I discovered Sonic Youth early nineties with the album Goo of which you see right here beside the beautiful cover and then do not say it was love at first listen, as initially found that sound rough and dirty as they were in no immediate my previous plays (basically the REM and Red Hot Chili Peppers - those wonderful of Blood Sugar Sex Magik ) and therefore more prone to introspection that the pure Scazzi my sixteen, but everything was just hidden behind the corner, as little by little through Sonic Youth started listening to other groups fabulous come i Pixies , i Pavement e i Radiohead , tra gli altri. C'è da aggiungere che, Elio e le storie tese a parte , posso tranquillamente affermare che non ho ascoltato veramente italiani prima dei venti anni (e anche allora fu un miscuglio impuro di CCCP , DeAndrè , Battiato , Gaetano e Flor de Mal con i MASSIMO VOLUME (il maiuscolo è voluto - a proposito, immenso il loro ultimo lavoro Cattive abitudini ). Poi arrivarono Bob Dylan e Neil Young , più oltre Miles Davis e John Coltrane But now I digress.
Years passed and gradually the sound of Sonic Youth went into the line with me (or was rather the opposite?) To become a kind of constant, a point at which to stop listening constantly - I think of as masterpieces EVOL or Daydream Nation, from even the recent work that is true, do not have the innovative power of the past, but fuck, the band members are still beautiful fifty credibilissimi!
